Explore the Frustrating Lack of Resources for Dementia Caregivers

You suspect that someone you care about may have Alzheimer's or a related dementia. Now what? That's a good question for which there are no good answers. The person presenting with memory loss may be reluctant to have you seek answers as to why for fear of losing their independence. Even some doctors may be reticent to assign a diagnosis knowing there are no widely agreed upon treatment options, no dementia care roadmap with specific steps to take to get one's affairs in order.

Here under this tab of "Lack of Resources," we explore the need for a dementia roadmap, as well as trained medical professionals who can support a person living with dementia and his/her family caregiver post-diagnosis. For each issue, we introduce responses to these problems that have been designed to address the gap in care and support.
